We believe everyone should be treated with dignity, respect and fairness, so have developed the following policy to ensure these standards are met. Our Ethical Sourcing Policy sets out Primepac’s expectations of our suppliers regarding labour and human rights, health and safety, business integrity and management of standards. Furthermore, we commit to continually reviewing our procedures in order to mitigate risk of modern slavery within our supply chain.
As a company that cares deeply about the welfare of workers in all areas of our supply chain, we require our suppliers to ensure that the standards discussed in this policy are executed and monitored, with annual reviews in place to assess performance and areas for improvement.
We recognise our responsibility as a key supplier in New Zealand to set and police these standards to ensure the human rights of our team, supply chain and community are positively impacted. Our goal is to foster a culture of continuous improvement that allows our stakeholders to adapt to global, environmental and societal changes.
We are leaders the New Zealand packaging market, shaping the industry with our innovation, processes, people and products. Primepac have 2 distribution centres; 1 in the North Island and 1 in the South Island, and have another DC on the way in Wiri, Auckland.
Primepac employee staff members all over New Zealand. Our team encompasses customer services, innovation and new product development, human resources, operations, marketing and sales teams. Together, we bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise, and innovative solutions that results in real value.
Suppliers of Primepac may not participate in any form of forced labour, trafficking, slavery or child labour. Suppliers must comply with all modern slavery laws, and implement controls to avoid modern slavery practices in their operations and supply chains. Furthermore, suppliers must not knowingly deal with third parties who engage in modern slavery practices.
Employees must work hours which are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, all employees must receive at least the legal minimum wage and benefits.
All employees must be treated with dignity and respect. Primepac encourages suppliers to communicate openly with staff regarding working conditions, without fear of harassment or reprisal. Suppliers should make employment decisions based on the candidate's ability to perform the job, avoiding factors such as race, colour, gender, nationality, religion, age, maternity or sexual orientation. Employees shall not be subject to verbal or physical abuse, or any other form of coercion.
Primepac suppliers must maintain the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct. It is prohibited to engage in any form of corrupt practices, including fraud, bribery, extortion or conflicts of interest.
All and any products supplied to Primepac must be produced, packaged, documented and shipped in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Suppliers are required to notify Primepac of any conflicts of interest which may impact the Supplier’s ability to adhere to these requirements. Our Suppliers are a representation of the Primepac brand, so must notify Primepac immediately in the event of circumstances or changes which may impact the Suppliers ability to remain in compliance with any of the standards outlined in this policy.
