The mandatory ban of single-use plastic bags is now in force (effective 1 July 2019). The ban applies to all plastic shopping bags under 70 microns and includes light-weight plastic bags commonly found at supermarkets, takeaway food outlets and other retail checkouts.
Many businesses will be considering their alternatives, not only to plastic bags, but to plastic products in general. Finding the right alternatives that are not only eco-friendly but fit for purpose can be daunting. We are lucky however that there are now a range of different options to choose from.
